MACKIE CONFIRMED FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA 4

MACKIE CONFIRMED FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA 4

It's hardly startling news but Anthony Mackie has been confirmed for Captain America 4.

The Disney+ Falcon and the Winter Soldier series ended with a new logo Captain America and the Winter Soldier logo which was a pretty big clue. Soon after The Hollywood Reporter shared news that Malcolm Spellman, the head writer for the Disney+ series was developing a fourth Captain America for Marvel Studios, presumably continuing the story set up in the show.

Now, we have final confirmation, via Deadline Hollywood, albeit without comment from Marvel Studios. Spellman will co-write the script with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. (He wrote the fifth episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.)  Prior to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Spellman was the writer/co-executive producer on Empire and consulting producer on crime drama Truth Be Told

Everything else is pure speculation. Will co-star Sebastian Stan join the cast? (Probably.) What about Wyatt Russell as John Walker and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, scheming in the post-credits scene of Black Widow? The likelihood of a Chris Evans cameo is remote.

There is no release date scheduled for Captain America 4 as yet.
